What is UplinkFast?

UplinkFast is a great protocol used exclusively on Cisco branded Switches, reducing STP Convergence time. You can increase performance by enabling UplinkFast for the Standard STP protocol on legacy switches.

UplinkFast must have a Blocked Port on the Cisco #Switch to be configured. With the UplinkFast feature, the downtime can be reduced from 50 seconds to 20 seconds as a result of network or cable failure.
