This is a video tutorial on how to configure an Alcatel 6600 48 port switch with 2 VLANs and proper ip addressing. This network is a class C network (192.168.25.0/24) on the inside. The switch connects to another (already configured) switch that has an IP of 10.0.1.254. To connect properly to this switch, we create VLAN 2 with an IP address of 10.0.25.254 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 so that it can communicate with the other switch. We then allocate only port 1 on the switch to be on VLAN 2, leaving 47 ports to connect to devices on our network.
