Configuring a Cisco device (switch/router) to forward Syslog messages to a Linux server has been explained with a real-time example.

Step 1: Configure the Cisco device to use a syslog server
Step 2: Configure Linux syslog server to receive syslog messages from the Cisco switch / router
Step 3: View the logging configuration and save the changes
Step 4: Test the syslog generation

Note: The linux version used is ''RHEL 5.5"
