Ashish Nadkarni, the Storage Systems director with IDC, discusses the differences between storage systems protocols ranging from iSCSI, NFS, SMB, and Infiniband to FCoE and fibre channel detailing when best to use each. IDC believes fibre channel still reigns supreme both in terms of absolute revenue and when it comes to enterprise-wide deployments where performance and resiliency dictate architectural decisions.
