Note that you have to take exams from the same series to earn the certification. You cannot earn a certification if you mix exams from different series.
The duration of the exam is about 90 minutes and has a maximum of 90 multiple choice questions.
It is conducted in English, Japanese, German and modern Spanish. Each exam would cost you 205 USD and the certificate’s validity expires after 3 years.
The certificate can be renewed for an annual fee of $25. However, you need not pay Continuing Education fees, if you plan to take up a higher-level certification with CompTIA.

The domains covered in this exam include Windows Operating Systems; Other Operating Systems and Technologies; Security; Software Troubleshooting; and Operational Procedures.
