The FOA has created a new series we call "Fiber Optics - Live!" where we create lab demonstrations that allow you to actually see how optical fiber and other fiber optic components work.
In this video, we show hiow light travels in a fiber. We use a 30mm plastic rod to represent the core of the optical fiber and a green laser pointer to show how the rays (we call them modes) of light travels in the fiber.
