Nov. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Bloomberg's Carol Massar and Courtney Donohoe report on Hewlett-Packard Co.'s agreement to buy 3Com Corp. for $2.7 billion to challenge Cisco Systems Inc. in the computer-networking market.
Hewlett-Packard, the world's biggest personal-computer maker, will pay $7.90 a share in cash for 3Com, 39 percent more than 3Com's closing price today, Palo Alto, California-based Hewlett-Packard said in a statement. (Source: Bloomberg)
