I made a foamboard template of the countertop. We spread 150 pieces of rice to create a random distribution for the location of the fiber optic lights. I poked a hole through the foamboard where each piece of rice landed. Then I flipped the template onto the melamine to drill holes to insert the fiber optics into so they would extend through the concrete and not move when it was poured. We used a black Sharpie to distribute the 20 large fiber optics and green for the medium sized fibers. Black silicone caulk makes nice rounded corners. Then used zip ties to suspend the wire mesh and to secure the fiber optics to the mesh. I found that the water supply lines on the faucet fit into an aluminum wide-mouth can so I used it to form the hole to mount the faucet. - There are 23 different videos describing each step of the process we did.
