Also a trick for using NON-CISCO SFP Modules in your switch.

This video covers two parts. The first part of the video basics is to connect to a cisco switch with a console cable and a program named PUTTY. We will need a Cisco Console cable that will be used to connect to the console port of the switch.

Next is a trick on using NON-CISCO SFP modules in a cisco switch for expanding the network. Here are the commands that are used if you follow the video to enable the NON-CISCO SFP.

"service unsupported-transceiver"
"no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid"

When using 3rd party GBICs, one must keep in mind that Cisco TAC will not provide any support for problems related to the SFPs as they are totally unsupported.
