This session is a joint session from Facebook, Mellanox, and Broadcom Limited.With Multi-Host systems like Yosemite becoming key building block for scale-out datacenters, we are seeing major NIC vendors support Multi-Host(MH) NICs that can be plugged in directly into these systems. Since multiple hosts depend on these MH-NICs to provide network connectivity, manageability of these NICs becomes crucial. In this session, we will look at how the standards play major role in allowing plug-n-play for these MH-NICs. We plan to deep dive in to the standards that allow BMC to configure NIC, monitor NIC, and update f/w using DMTF standards like NC-SI, MCTP, PLDM.
