DIRL is an innovative technology to dynamically limit the culprit devices from causing congestion or slow drain in a storage area network (SAN). Using DIRL, the slower and the faster devices can co-exist in the same fabric, and together, they can push the All-Flash NVMe storage arrays to full potential. The best part is that DIRL is not dependent on the end-devices, doesn’t require any additional license, and is available on the existing Cisco MDS 9000 Switches after a software-only upgrade.
