Cybercrime. Privacy. The power of big data and mobility. These issues are as challenging to India as they are to any global region. Vinayak Godse of DSCI discusses his organization's role in improving cybersecurity.

Yet, while the challenges are similar, India's landscape is unique in terms of regulations and even the varying digital needs of its populace.

Godse has total 16 years of experience in information security and IT. He is Director of Data Protection with Data Security Council of India. He is managing a program for defining data security and privacy practices, based on which self regulation mechanism will be established. Along with this program, he is also engaged in DSCI outreach program at national and international platforms for establishing collaboration with different legal and regulatory bodies, data protection authorities, global clients and outsource service providers of all categories including small and medium players.
