Cisco Catalyst 2960 enterprise switch configuration

This is a video over the Cisco Catalyst 2960 switch. I got this from one of my friends in my I.T. class. It came from a warehouse but it still seems to work as it should. Even though its used, $20 is still a good price.

Something I should have done and something you should do as well is disable the unused ports. The purpose of that is to make sure no one can just walk up to the switch and plug in their own device. This can be accomplished by going into the unused interfaces and typing "shut" or "shutdown".

For example:

switch(config)#int f0/14
switch(config-if)#shut
Vlan 1 is also the default management Vlan, so that's why I used that one.

The reason I put "notarealwebsite.com" as the domain name is because I don't really have a website or anything. So I just made one up. If you have a website, you would most likely make your domain name that url.
