- These computers are known as hosts or end systems.
- Router is known as edge router.
Network Core: Peer to Peer network - point to point connection, no central server.
Client-Server Network:
- Client: Request servers for a task. Generally called desktop PCs or workstations.
- Server: Receive requests from the clients. Process and response them.
Network Core:
- Circuit Switching: A dedicated channel has to be established before the call is made between users.
its reserved between the users till the connection is active.
- Packet Switching: It is not required to establish the connection initially.
Mainly used for data, non-real time scenario.
