SONiC is rapidly emerging as the next generation Network OS of choice for data center deployments. This community driven, opensource Network OS has been deployed in various webscale datacenters. This session will talk about how SONiC is now expanding beyond the webscale data centers to multi-tenant agile data centers for Service Providers and Enterprises with support for virtual networking and programmatic automation and monitoring. This talk will describe a new SONiC feature initiative - EVPN over VXLAN. This technology allows easy configuration and management of private L2 and L3 Virtual Network Instances on a shared IP underlay fabric, opening up a variety of network virtualization use cases. The talk will cover the target use cases, the feature functionality, and the SONiC design.
