Hi there, my name is Wayne Sangster and I'm a Product Manager at Allied Telesis.

Today I want to tell you about the SwitchBlade x8100 series of layer 3 chassis switches.

These are designed to give you high performance and high availability in your network core.
Two sizes available the SBx8112 here is the twelve slot chassis and his little brother the SBx8106 is a six slot chassis

Both these offer really extensive range of connectivity options as you can see we got copper and fiber there's gigabit and 10 gigabit and power over Ethernet. These very latest line cards the GT 40 at the bottom here you can see utilize the very latest RJ point five connectors.

Now these as you can see are literally half the size of a standard copper connector so that you double your port density.

SwitchBlade is really eco-friendly as well In fact these guys are the most power efficient chassis in their class so that's going to save you money it's going to lower total cost of ownership and is better for the planet too.

Now all these chassis both sizes have dual load sharing power supplies. So its going to maximize your uptime. And with dual control cards here they have active active switching to utilize the full power of the chassis. And because those are control cards have pretty much hitless failover
you're going to have no downtime. Now every component in the chassis is hot-swappable so that means you can replace cards as and when required with no disruption to your network. Now that's a great design. SwitchBlade runs AlliedWare Plus which is Allied Telesis fully featured operating system

It's the same as what we have on all our 'x' series products so you're going to get a nice consistent experience right across the network which is really powerful.

Now there is two control cards options.

The CFC400 is perfect for medium size businesses, so if you've got a chassis with two of these CFCs in it you're going to get a resilient reliable network and that's matched with Link Aggregation to your access switches as well as your servers and your storage.

For a distributed network solutions across the campus or even across the city Allied Telesis EPSR gives you high-speed resilient ring connectivity and failover as quick as 50 milliseconds now that's really fast.

Now the CFC960 here is like the big brother the one we have in this chassis here now this has powerful processing ability which is ideal for a large network core and as you can see they have
four 10 Gigabit ports that are built right in.

And when you partner this card with the XS16 which is our 16 by 10 Gigabit port line card it provides double the backplane bandwidth which is ideal for high speed delivery of your large capacity links.

But very coolest feature of the CFC960 is its ability to let stack let you stack two of these chassis together using Allied Telesis VCStack Plus.
Now VCStack Plus lets you create single virtual unit out of two of these chassis

Each chassis has got dual control cards and dual power supplies of course so you're going to get the full power over real chassis but times two.

With VCStack Plus your large business networks have a core with quad resilience for complete network availability.

With fiber stacking connectors the chassis don't even have to be together they can be literally miles apart which is perfect for data mirroring solution giving you automated disaster recovery for your business

Got to tell you about one more great feature Allied Telesis Management Framework or AMF this is available on the SwitchBlade as well as the 'x' series products

Now AMF makes network management really really simple by automating a whole lot of those of those consuming daily management tasks with powerful features like centralized management AMF treats your whole network as if it's a single virtual entity.

And with features like auto-backup or auto-upgrade or auto-provisioning, auto-recovery it's like plug-and-play networking its going to save you time its going to save you money.

Now with the CFC400 you can manage networks up to 80 nodes and with the CFC960 you can manage networks up 120 nodes.
