What is #PortFast?

PortFast is configured on the port where the end devices (Computer, Printer, Server) are connected to the #Switch. Allows the configured port to enter the Forwarding Mode directly when a cable failure occurs.

For example, if a File Server attached to a Cisco Switch is of paramount importance, with a redundant network and the PortFast feature, you can maintain a continuous connection between the Switch and the End Device.

In short, you can reduce the DownTime time from 50 seconds to 1 second with PortFast.
