[UPDATE 4-27-13]
10,000 Views, Awesome. I have tested this on my Dell Mini with Kali Linux and still no love on that wifi card. Still testing that. Thanks for all the comments, I'm glad I got to help so many!
[UPDATE 1-8-13]
5,000+ Views, thanks everyone. As some have noted in the comments, Mint 14 64bit uses caja file manager, so replace "sudo nautilius" with "sudo caja". The methods are the same, just know your file manager being used in your distro and call it with sudo. =D
[UPDATE 11-25-12]
Mint14 works too, but know your file manager. 14 is using nemo file manager
# sudo nemo
that will get you where you need to be.
[UPDATE 11-4-12]
Have tested this now on Zorin OS 6 Core. Makes sense as that distro is Based on Ubuntu 12.04
Don't have drivers for your broadcom based wifi chipset right out of the box on an Ubuntu 12.04 live cd? Try this easy method.
Using another internet enabled PC:
Download the b43 firmware files
https://www.box.com/s/42ea3x9uokddzavc08tb (updated 10/6/2012)
Extract the files folder to a thumb drive
Using the thumb drive on your Ubuntu 12.04 live install system launch Nuatilus with admin privs (~\sudo nautilus)
Using Nautilas, copy the b43 file folder to your filesystem /lib/firmware/
open a terminal and run sudo modprobe -v b43
It should quickly detect and initialize your wifi hardware and you can connect normally.
This method will work for other Linux live distros too. This method will also work if you install the OS permanently and need the drivers.
Tested on a Dell Precision M90 with Ubuntu 12.04 and Mint 13
Tested on Acer 5670 with Zorin OS 6 Core
