Jeremy Burton, President, Products and Marketing, EMC and Guy Churchward, President, Core Technologies Division, EMC, announced the release of various new products and releases into the EMC product portfolio. Customers have indicated that EMC needs to change its approach for storage products.

Guy Churchward mentioned that previously the EMC product portfolio was known to have too many silos, based on customer feedback. The new releases announced at EMC World 2015 are meant to bring the products closer towards delivering outcomes. The EMC storage products are moving towards simplicity and automation. The next layer around simplicity and automation is to make the products cloud enabled. This will work well whether the cloud is internal or external. Customers are indicating they want to run their own cloud attached to storage and want a path to the cloud. Another requirement is to protect the data whether on the cloud or in the data centre. EMC is gearing up to protect the data while allowing customers to flip the data forward and backward as well as provide disaster recovery.
