What is a VSAN: https://searchstorage.techtarget.com/definition/virtual-storage-area-network

A VSAN -- not to be confused with VMware’s vSAN -- is a virtual storage area network. Just like a typical SAN, a VSAN also connects pools of storage for multiple servers to access for fast performance. But, it’s virtualized. A VSAN isolates specific portions of a physical SAN, making it easy to scale out, configure, and address issues in one partition without affecting the rest of the network.
