This video shows you how to use Rommon Mode on a Cisco Router using the Cisco Packet Tracer network simulator program.

To use #Rommon #Mode:
Step 1: Add a Router, Switch, and TFTP Server to the #PacketTracer workspace.
Step 2: Connect the network devices with a straight cable.
Step 3: Configure the TFTP Server and make sure it is running.
Step 4: Use the flash tftp command to copy the Cisco Router IOS image to the TFTP Server.
Step 5: Execute config register 0x2100 command in configuration mode to change Rommon Mode on the Cisco Router.
Step 6: Restart the Router using the Reload command.
Step 7: To restore the Router IOS image from the TFTP server, execute the following commands in Rommon mode.
➦ IP_ADDRESS: 192.168.10.1
➦ IP_SUBNET_MASK: 255.255.255.0
➦ DEFAULT_GATEWAY: 192.168.10.1
➦ TFTP_SERVER: 192.168.10.100
➦ TFTP_FILE: c1900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M4.bin
Step 8: Execute the tftpdnld command to restore the router image.
Step 9: After completing the restore process, run the command confreg 0x2102 this time in Rommon Mode.
