A research team at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center has developed a revolutionary technology called Fiber Optics Sensing System or FOSS, a system that provides real-time information on structure strain, shape, temperature, and other data used by designers.
This 6-minute, 58-second video shows the technology’s current uses in aircraft research and design, as well as highlighting its potential applications beyond the aerospace industry.
